New Version of Web2School Released

Web2School 1.76.2 has been released. Upgrades to our system will be completed over the December vacation. See the new features below.

New Features in v 1.76.2:

· New Search Interface for Students, Personnel, Courses, and Guardians – The new search interface provides for better filtering, simpler access to tabbed items within a window, and Next/Previous options within windows. You also can access other types of searches from any search window.

® Change Type of Search - Within a Search screen, you may click in the Type of Search field to execute a different type of search. For example, if you are doing a student search and would like to look up a course, simply select Course Search from the Type of Search drop-down.

® Improved Filtering - In addition to the existing “Search By” functionality, users can now filter (“narrow down”) the displayed data. Simply select the field you would like to further filter and enter the first few characters of the information you would like to display. For example, with a list of students displayed, you can filter by “c”, and your displayed list will change to show only those students with a last or first name starting with the letter “c”. Add more characters to filter further. Deleting the characters will display the fill list. NOTE: You will also find this filtering in Detailed Daily Attendance and Health Desk.

® Easier access to specific information – The individual Tab options in the Student Information window can now be accessed directly from the Student Search window. For example, within a Student Search, the left side of the search screen displays buttons that correspond to information such as Transcript, Guardian, Progress, Schedule, and GB Assignments. After selecting a student, you may choose one of the buttons on the left to directly access the information you are looking for. Once inside the Student Information window, you can still use the tabs to view other information.

® Next/Previous - From within the information window for Students, Personnel, Courses, and Guardians, you may select Next and Previous to quickly move forward or backward to another student, teacher, course, or guardian, for example.

· Elementary Grades:

® Copy Skill Types and Skills – From Administration – Elementary Grades, you may copy skill types and skill from one teacher to multiple teachers that have the same course(s). Users can now treat one teacher as a “master” or template for other teachers of the same courses using the same skill types and skills, thus saving multiple steps. If the course does not exist for a teacher you are copying to, you have the option to create the course automatically using the next available section number. You also have the option to delete any existing skills and skill types that may exist for a teacher you are copying to.

· Attendance:

® Improved Filtering in Detailed Daily Attendance – In addition to the existing “Search By” functionality, users can now filter (“narrow down”) the displayed data. See “Improve Filtering” section above for more information.

· Notification - Our Notifications capability has undergone some major improvements in accordance with customer feedback. The window itself has been redesigned so that appearance and functionality are consistent with our other windows. In addition, users have the flexibility to search all notifications based on either who has or has not notified.

® Class Cuts by Period – Users now can filter class cuts by period.

® Lock Daily and Class Attendance – The administrator can lock daily attendance for individual teachers after notification has been received.

® Add Notification Notes – With each notification, you may now enter a note for the administrator. These notes will display beside that specific notification.

® Filtering – As with the student search referenced above, the displayed notification list can be further filtered by entering a few characters in the Filter by: field. Available filters vary depending on the notification type.

® Discipline – Notifications may now be sent when infractions are entered.

· Legal Alert - We now offer the ability to enter a legal alert for students within the student’s information window. There is a new permission that must be granted for access to view or modify legal alerts. For those students with alerts, the “Legal Alert” button on the Student Information window will appear in bold and with asterisks, similar to Medical Alerts.

· Grade Reporting:

® Alphabetized tools, filters, and output – Teacher Verification Reports for progress reports and report cards will now display by Last Name, both in the filter selection and in the report. The Export Tools will also display teachers by Last Name.

® New Straight Averages by Term Report – As requested by many customers, this report simply calculates an average per student based on all courses in a term.

· Grade Book - From One Course to Another – This tool for moving a student from one course into another includes the ability to also move daily grades only when the skill types and skills are identical between the two courses.

· Discipline – When a discipline incident is added to a student, a notification with optional Notes may now be sent to administration.

· Health:

® Immunizations – Nurses can re-assign students from one immunization name to another. In addition, when an immunization is deleted from the Setup window, users will now have the option to move Student records associated to that immunization to a new one.

® BMI and BP percentiles – These fields are now printed on the Growth and Development as well as Student Health Record reports. The “View Text” from the data entry window also has these fields printed.

® View Text on Health Setup – Each of the Health Setup windows now offers a View Text button.

· Study Hall Display in Teacher Desk – Teachers may click to display Grade book courses only or Study Hall courses only.
